Pisciotta is one of the most characteristic towns of Cilento, extends south of the province of Salerno between the municipalities of Ascea and Centola Palinuro and is inhabited by 2,600 inhabitants. Pisciotta is one of the most beautiful medieval villages of Cilento, positioned on the top of a hill, it offers a suggestive landscape for those who sail the Cilento coast.

In addition to the capital, it has 3 hamlets, two marinare, Marina di Pisciotta and Caprioli and one hilly, Rodio. To tell the truth, Caprioli develops not only along the coast, but above all in the hills. Worth noting are the Valle and Marina Campagna districts, the latter, like the Caprioli hamlet, has both the hilly and the marine parts.

Pisciotta, the capital city, is located about 200 meters above the sea level and is not far from the nearby Marina di Pisciotta. The historic center is very suggestive since the medieval buildings of the village are clearly visible. From here is possible to reach the Marina hamlet also on foot for those wishing to take a long staircase.

Pisciotta, like all of Cilento, is crossed by numerous paths, some real mule tracks, others kept with care where it is possible to go hiking, walking and trekking in Pisciotta.
The path that runs through the streets of Castelluccio is very fascinating, a path that reaches over 700 meters in height and offers a breathtaking view of the Palinuro promontory.
